The Victorian Era is rife with both cultural exchange and rampant cultural appropriation, leading to the creation of various traditions that are both modern and influenced by cultural practices or ideas. In this era Yoga, calisthenics, and gymnastics of various forms were combined to create new physical fitness routines. These manuals may be traditional Yoga texts translated by European mages, runic yoga texts, or gymnastics man uals that pull on other fitness traditions. A key element is their diversity of influences as information is pulled from around the world to inform their creation. These manuals are a collection of various essays, theories, and descriptions of poses and exercises.

System

By studying the Manual for three weeks and performing the exercises contained within, the user may purchase one dot of Stamina at half normal experience cost, one dot of Martial Arts at half normal cost, and/ or a Sphere Rank in Life or Forces up to Rank 3 for 4 × Sphere Rating or 3 × Sphere Rating if either is the mage’s Affinity Sphere. A mage may use the Manual for any of the three benefits once and gains no further benefit for future increases in those areas.
