Finally, the mage invests her Awakened Arts (or Enlightened Sciences) into the Wonder. Story-wise, this culminates in a power­ ful rite or procedure – sometimes referred to as quickening –wherein the character instills the essence of power into the foundation.

In game terms, the player makes an extended Arete roll. That roll’s difficulty depends upon what she’s doing and how she’s doing it, and the number of successes depends upon the type of Wonder she’s trying to create; the more powerful the Wonder, the more successes she has to roll.
