People who use notebooks know the annoyance of running out of pages. Those who rely on notebooks for their livelihoods know the pain of either having to tran scribe information from a retired notebook into their everyday pad or worse, having to maintain an elaborate archival system — a personal library with no librarian to help. Endless Notebooks erase those problems, without erasing a single jot of information. Its main advantage is obvious — they’re endless. No matter how many notes, drawings, or other works the user makes, there are still more pages.
Of course, endless pages mean something infinitely large or impossible to skim to the proper location. Ex cept these notebooks are prepared for that, too. Simply thinking the desired page makes it the next one that the user will flip to.
System
Endless Notebooks aren’t truly unlimited, but their actual limitations are virtually impossible for users to reach. Each notebook uses a Correspondence 2 Effect to access a private repository of one million pages — enough for a full century of heavy use. A Mind 1 Effect reads the surface thoughts of the user, allowing them to find any previously written page they know of, even if they can’t exactly recall what the page says. Users can also hide pages, preventing unAwakened readers from ever accidentally reading them, even if the user hands the notebook to another person with it open to that page. The notebooks’ Effects are elegant.
Designating pages as hidden requires an activation roll. Once the user activates the notebook, they can designate any pages they can read as hidden or accessible. Previously used Endless Notebooks may contain hidden pages from other users, which also require an activation roll to unlock, although most magi with secondhand Endless Notebooks never find all of the previous users’ pages.
