The martial artist can also either use mundane Abilities to reduce the difficulty of this feat by up to -3, or else use the Mind Effect to reduce the difficulty of an Attribute + Ability roll by up to -3. The player for Marcus C, for example, could use a successful Mind Effect to reduce the difficulty of a Charisma + Empathy roll, or else use Charisma + Empathy to reduce the difficulty of that Mind Effect.
