The Samsara Path of Paradox

Path of Enlightenment · Vampire

Vampire

The Samsara path, named both for the literal meaning of “a journey” and the metaphysical association of samsara with rebirth and reincarnation, is one of the newest versions of the Path of Paradox, created by young Ravnos around the turn of the millennium. While it follows the basic strictures of the overall path, it focuses on more modern concepts and has a greater understanding of multiculturalism. As such, it uses a different Hierarchy of Sins than the one presented in V20.

Samsara Path of Paradox Hierarchy of Sins
RatingMoral GuidelineRationale
10Embracing a motherMothers have given life, and should tend life. They should never be made servants of death.
9Respect deception, but seek truthThis is the infinite paradox. Through uncovering paradoxes and realizing that both parts are true, we peel away the world’s illusions.
8Killing a mortalDeath robs a person of the ability to fulfill their svadharma.
7Failing to destroy a failed vampireA vampire has failed when she rejects her vampiric nature. Trying to become mortal again, attempting to live a mortal life, acquire perfect humanity, or revering mortals above vampires are signs of utter failure.
6Returning to your mortal life or pretending to be mortalYour svadharma is no longer theirs; those ways are forbidden to you after the Embrace.
5Carrying a karmic debtOwing someone on a spiritual level (for example, because they saved your unlife) impacts your svadharma. Such debt prevents you from fulfilling your destiny.
4Failure to follow your svadharmaOnce you know your purpose, you must never betray or turn from it.
3Killing a vampire that is clearly following his svadharmaNo destiny is more important than any other. You cannot stop the workings of fate or karma, and you should not try.
2Becoming blood boundForcibly tying your svadharma to another’s is anathema.
1Embracing, except as a critical part of your svadharmaThe Embrace ends one svadharma to begin another. Never lightly end another’s path.
