Rubbing the Bones
Rote · Mage
And speaking of intense sensations… Even at the lower levels of Prime expertise, a mage with Prime 2 can “rub someone’s bones” by causing the victim’s internal Quintessence to fluctuate. Although this attack inflicts bashing damage only (as per the normal Base Damage or Duration chart), it hurts. A lot.
A victim of this Effect needs to make a Willpower roll, with the difficulty being the number of health levels, pre-soak, that he has taken. If he succeeds, then he can still act; if not, then he’s paralyzed with agony. People who see this vulgar Effect in action notice that the victim seems to fade in and out, going from his normal physical presence to a ghostly flickering shadow of himself. Again, the attack is vulgar, but highly effective… especially for mages who haven’t yet mastered the truly destructive capabilities of magick.
